Ohio Security Guard License Practice Exam – Practice Test & Study Guide

Obtaining a security guard license requires meeting certain criteria, and several factors can disqualify an applicant from being eligible. A criminal record is a significant disqualifier, as many states, including Ohio, prevent individuals with certain criminal backgrounds—from felonies to specific misdemeanors—from being licensed as security guards. This policy is in place to ensure public safety and maintain the integrity of security personnel.

Being underage also poses a barrier, as there are legal age requirements to hold a security guard license. If an applicant does not meet the minimum age threshold, they cannot be considered for licensure, which is intended to ensure that security personnel have the maturity and responsibility required for the role.

Additionally, a lack of educational qualifications can indeed be a disqualifying factor. Security firms often look for candidates who possess a certain level of education or training to ensure that they can perform their duties competently.

Considering these key points, it's clear that all of these factors—criminal record, being underage, and insufficient educational qualifications—can collectively disqualify an applicant from obtaining a security guard license. This comprehensive approach is intended to vet candidates and uphold the standards of the security industry, making the choice that encompasses all these factors the correct one.
